The Southern Renewals Enterprise (SRE) is accountable for the Southern Region's renewals portfolio for 10 years (CP7 and CP8).
The Southern Region has three Routes - Wessex, Sussex and Kent. It is the gateway for 700 million passenger journeys each year, and serves channel routes to Europe, major ports, Gatwick and Southampton airports, and the south coast resorts.
The region covers over 544 stations, 3,300 miles of track, 4,986 bridges, 895 level crossings and 7,990 signals.
SRE is a collective of three elements. The roles of each is:
•  Capable Owner (Network Rail) will focus on owning, defining and appropriately assuring the renewals portfolio delivery.
•  Southern Integrated Delivery (SID) will be empowered to plan, specify, assemble and hand back the full renewals portfolio. Partners (VolkerFitzpatrick, Octavius, NetworkRail, AtkinsRéalis, VolkerRail) will pool their expertise and resources across the entire regional renewal's portfolio, coordinating and delivering five interlinked tranches of work.
•  Ecosystem consisting of both strategic and tactical subcontractors, supply chain partners and suppliers. The Ecosystem will be collectively assembled and managed by SID, for the overall benefit of SRE's outcomes.
